Instructions on Having a Soul

Be gentle with it

Take it out in the rain sometimes

Let it dance.

Feed it with creativity

and of course a little fresh air and sunshine.

Deepen it with literature.

Make sure it keeps a box full of good memories and bad

so that you’ll always know there’s a light to bring you out the dark.

Water it with love

because it’s a sponge for that kind of stuff.

If you’re lucky enough to find another soul that makes yours sing

stay close to them and know that you’re where you’re meant to be.

To cure an aching soul:

take it to the beach and let it stare into the depths of the ocean – her words should do the trick.

All it wants is to live,

to keep becoming.

Let it laugh,

let it cry,

let it do both at the same time.

Let it bask in long sunsets

and wake it slowly the next day.

Do plenty of whatever warms it up

because what we do, does things to us.

Don’t ever apologise for the way it shines,

the right people won’t need shades on to see.

And lastly,

let it satiate it the knowledge that it will one day be free.

Dear Readers…

I’m Teya, and welcome to my little corner of the World Wide Web.
I used to travel wildly, thriving on chaos and chasing the intrinsic desire to see everything….
